Living in Newark

Newark on Trent is a market town in the county of Nottinghamshire standing on the River Trent.

The town is steeped in history that dates back to Roman times, with Newark Castle originally starting off as a Saxon manor house, founded by Edward the Elder. This is now a popular tourist spot with free entry to the grounds and formal gardens.

A market is held almost every day of the week with different items on offer each time. Further out of the town centre you’ll find the Northgate Retail Park with more well-known high street stores.
