Belvoir raises £16k for charity!

We are delighted to be able to confirm that the outstanding effort put in right around the Belvoir network has raised just short of £16,000 for worthy causes up and down the country.

Here at Belvoir Central Office in Grantham, Lincolnshire we took part in Tour de Belvoir! The aim of this challenge was to run, cycle or row from Belvoir’s most southerly office in Plymouth to our most northerly in Orkney. Many of the team got involved by racking up miles in the gym helping to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research UK. The team smashed the 795-mile target and continued until they hit 1,107 miles and raised over £1,500 for the charity.

It wasn’t just Central Office that raked in the donations, our Telford office set out to complete a 1000 mile challenge which included walking to viewings! The team raised well over £2,000 Guide Dogs for the Blind. Talking of walking, our Haywards Heath office got a little hot under the collar and completed a fire walk and raised over £1,000 for their local hospice, and Belvoir Lichfield completed a festive fancy dress 6k run raising a £850 for a hospice local to them.

Team Belvoir have pushed themselves to the limit to raise money for worthy causes, Gary and Amanda Pemberton of Belvoir Warrington let nothing stop them in their challenges with Gary taking on a London-Paris bike ride, and Amanda taking part in the London Marathon – together raising over £3,000. Belvoir Northwich and Congleton hosted their hugely popular annual golf day which raised over £3,300 for Macmillan and Belvoir Wrexham donated £25 from every property sale to a local hospice, raising a fantastic £1,500 for the cause.

Our Chief Operating Officer, Dorian Gonsalves said “this truly was an amazing effort by so many people in the network, and I am incredibly proud of everyone who took part and delighted that so many clients, contractors and supporters donated their time and money so generously.

“Many other offices took part in our charity initiative through all kinds of events such as Christmas jumper days, raffles, and coffee mornings. Belvoir Shrewsbury joined forces with Shrewsbury Town Football Club to organise a competition specifically for children in long-stay hospital care, offering free tickets to two home games and a three-course lunch at the ground, which was very successful.

“Belvoir has some incredibly generous franchise owners and staff, who donate their time to local charities. For example, in Belvoir Belfast, Marketing Manager Pauline Ringland gifted her time to a charity that supports families of sick and premature babies – taking part in a Santa’s Grotto Village event.”

The outstanding effort throughout the network has raised over £16,000 for local and national charities. We are incredibly proud of this amazing achievement and we are sure we will beat this target in 2017. Many offices are starting to make exciting charity plans to push themselves further, and here at Central Office we’ve put a team together to take part in Tough Mudder, a military-style assault course in which we will be raising money for Parkinsons UK, an amazing charity that drives better care, awareness and treatments for sufferers of Parkinsons. More to follow on our muddy challenge soon!
