We firmly believe that excellent customer service goes a long way and really can change lives. This is something that our Bedford office have proven to be a fact. Zoe and Nigel Bywater from Belvoir Bedford didn’t even have to stop and think before coming to the aid of a tenant in distress.
Becky Clements had popped out to the shop for an hour and returned to find her home had been broken in to and ransacked. Immediately Becky rang the out of hours contact number for the office to report the damage, Zoe told us ‘We quickly got a contractor out to board the house up and make it safe’. All of Becky Clements’ gifts from under the tree had been stolen including an iMac computer that she had saved up for to buy for her daughter. Upon returning to work the next morning, Zoe and her team felt the need to act and to help shine some positivity on such a callous act.
They asked around other local businesses to see if they could raise some funds to replace the presents that had been stolen – Zoe said ‘The response was amazing and we raised £595 in cash, as well as receiving a voucher from a software provider and chocolates and pastries from our neighbour who runs a patisserie.’
Becky’s faith in human kindness was restored by the kind act of the office, she said ‘Discovering I had been burgled was horrendous. My 17-year old daughter Lucie and I were absolutely devastated and Christmas was ruined’ the team at Bedford then called Becky and asked her to come in to the office to receive the gifts to which Becky told us ‘When I found out what they had done I was speechless. I just don’t know how to begin to thank them, or the people that helped.’
Becky extends her gratitude further to Zoe, Nigel and the rest of the team ‘Belvoir Bedford gave us back the Christmas that thieves had taken away. Thanks to Zoe and Nigel and the rest of the team and the people that helped I was able to go out on 23rd December and buy replacement presents for Lucie and other family members…I can never repay them, the team at Belvoir Bedford is just amazing.’
