Why Invest in Lincoln?

Lincoln is one of the fastest growing Cities in the UK with an ever expanding University Campus, 5 RAF bases and many new housing developments under construction and millions of pounds being invested in various parts of the City to help support further development.

In June 2017 construction work began on the A15 Eastern Bypass. This has been designed to help improve the infrastructure in the City as well as easing congestion and improving public transport and commuting.

Further to this, 11 new direct trains from Lincoln to London have been confirmed to start from 2019, along with direct trains from Lincoln to Leeds. This investment will open up employment opportunities for the people of Lincoln, and nudge the City a little closer towards the capitals commuter belt.

Lincoln Country Hospital is one of our Cities largest employers. This means the staff working there can have a big influence on those operating in the private rental sector (PRS). The reason for this is because many hospitals workers are highly likely to rent, at least for a while. Hospital workers who are looking to rent tend to span the whole of the rental sector, too, from student nurses looking for house shares, through to consultants and other senior staff coming from abroad, wanting to live in detached executive homes, which are in short supply in Lincoln.

The University of Lincoln now has over 14,000 students and employs over 1,600 staff members. It was also announced in early 2018 that it will also be home to Lincolnshire’s first Medical School starting from September 2019. Just as the Hospital does, having the University in Lincoln also has a huge influence on the PRS as many of the University Lecturers and mature students that come from abroad prefer to rent during their time at the University.
