The new Busway Transport Link for Luton Dunstable and Houghton Regis is nearly here

The £91m Luton Dunstable Busway will open on 25th September, providing frequent, fast and reliable travel between Luton, Dunstable and Houghton Regis.

Part of wider regeneration plans for the area, the Busway route comprises 6.1 miles of bus-only road between Blackburn Road in Houghton Regis, through Dunstable and into Luton town centre.

You will be able to travel between Dunstable and Luton in as little as 15 minutes, with main services arriving up to every eight minutes. Together with the priority buses receive at junctions, the separation of buses and normal traffic will ensure that services can bypass congestion ‘hotspots’ and deliver the shortest possible journey times for passengers.

Off the guided section, buses will stop in Dunstable’s Downside and Beecroft estates, travel from Toddington through Houghton Regis and will extend up to London Luton airport, after stopping at the new Luton station Interchange.

Three bus service operators (Arriva, Grant Palmer and Centrebus) have demonstrated commitment to the busway and both Central Bedfordshire Council and Luton Borough Council will continue working with operators to increase the number services using the busway.

The Busway and these initial services are instrumental to the long-term strategy for growth, economic prosperity and wider regeneration of the area.

At Belvoir Dunstable’s office on Church St we have received many enquiries from Landlords and Tenants who are very positive about this new link and their decision to purchase a Buy-to-Let property or to rent a property in the area has been influenced by this exciting new and convenient connection.
