How can we help?

The cost-of-living crisis has seen rates increase significantly, and bills hike beyond recognition, yet your income remains the same. We get it. It’s tough out there.

While we continue to strive to find the perfect property for those house hunting, we also understand that many people are struggling financially, and we want to help.

So, here are a few ways that the residents of Corby can access financial help and advice.

Household Support Fund

Did you know that households in North Northamptonshire who are struggling to manage food and utility costs can apply for help from the Household Support Fund (HSF4)?

The fund supports households with supermarket vouchers and financial aid, as well as working with partner agencies to support vulnerable families.

Some households will be eligible to a one-off payment of £320 (depending on household size) paid directly into your bank account. The fund is financed by the Department of Work and Pensions.

North Northants Council paused applications on 10 September as they have received a high number of applications, but are welcoming applications again in October. For more details visit https://bit.ly/3sxbhyH

Mortgage advice

Though rates are high, acting early can give you an advantage in the mortgage stakes. Start thinking about remortgaging six months in advance of your current mortgage deal coming to an end. This will give you chance to scope the market and find the best possible deal.

We would always recommend seeking expert advice from an independent mortgage broker. Our Corby office offers mortgage advice from LionHart Mortgage Solutions and our dedicated adviser is Savannah Banks-Gould.

It is vital that you understand your position and what any potential mortgage offer could mean for your monthly outgoings.

Rental properties

Whether you are a landlord struggling with your buy to let or you’re a tenant sick of coping with unavoidable rent hikes, we can help with knowledgeable support and guidance to find you the best possible solution.

We are members of the Safeagent Scheme, which offers peace of mind to landlords and tenants through a recognised accreditation. For an extra protection Safeagent provide our clients with money protection insurance.

Support services

Whatever struggles you are facing, you are not alone. There are a number of services and charities locally who offer support.
