Tenancy Agreement

Hendon Tenancy Agreement

The tenancy agreement is a contract between you and your tenant. Make sure you have an appropriate tenancy agreement in place, and that this has been signed before the tenant moves in. The tenancy agreement outlines all arrangements about the tenancy - both parties must uphold this contract.

You must protect your tenants’ deposit in a government-approved scheme if you rent the property on an assured shorthold lease. It's vital that you protect the deposit within 30 days of receiving it. Once protected, ensure all parties have been given a copy of the certificate, prescribed information and scheme leaflet and have signed it. If using an agent to look after your property you still need to ensure that the tenants' deposit is held in an approved scheme.
