York Sales Facts & Figures

Here at Belvoir, we understand that prospective sellers have only one thing in mind – what is the current state of the sales market and how will my property perform?

For that reason, we thought you may appreciate an overview of the current sales market in York, as can be seen below:

  • Homes Currently for Sale in York - 935
  • New in Last 14 Days – 105
  • Total Properties Sold in January ’19 – 175
  • Average Selling Price of Property Sold in January ‘19 - £293,852

As of January 2019 (the latest data available) the property type that has achieved the highest average price is terraced. In comparison to January 2018 there has been a 25% increase in average price achieved, increasing from £247,246 to £308,091. Terraced properties were also the most popular type of property, with 65 properties sold in January 2019, with semi-detached closely following at 61 properties sold.

Selling times over the past 90 days have also been analysed, with semi-detached properties selling in the least time (81 days average), closely followed by terraced properties (95 days average). Interestingly, these two property types were also the most popular types of property, with 354 semi-detached properties sold and 249 terraced properties sold in the past 90 days – this suggests that the hot property in York currently stands with semi-detached and terraced properties.

How does your sale compare? Is there a reason (noted above) that maybe your house sale is taking longer than you’d like? If you can’t think of a reason, why not give us a call and see if we can help?
