Belvoir Grantham’s Macmillan Coffee Morning: tea, cake and a raffle for a good cause

Share article

Belvoir Grantham is holding a Macmillan Coffee Morning in support of Macmillan Cancer Support, and everyone in the local area is welcome to pop in for a cuppa and a slice of cake.

Macmillan’s Coffee Morning is one of the UK’s best-known fundraising events, with businesses, schools and community groups across the country putting the kettle on each autumn to raise money for people living with cancer. Belvoir Grantham is getting behind the cause this year, and the branch is hoping to see plenty of familiar faces from around Grantham on the day.

When and where
✔ Friday 25 September, 9am until 5pm
✔ Belvoir Grantham, 23 St Peter’s Hill, Grantham, NG31 6QF

Tea, coffee and homemade cakes will be on sale throughout the day, with proceeds going to Macmillan Cancer Support. There’s no need to book, so anyone passing through the town centre is welcome to drop by, take a seat and enjoy a slice of something sweet while supporting a good cause.

A raffle with prizes from local businesses
Alongside the cakes, there’ll be a raffle with prizes donated by landlords, contractors and businesses from across Grantham, ranging from gift cards to bottles of champagne. Tickets cost £1 each, £5 for a strip of five, or £10 for three strips, and the raffle will be drawn at the end of the day. The range of prizes on offer is thanks entirely to the generosity of the local businesses who came forward to support the event.

Local businesses that have kindly donated prizes so far include:
✔ Blunt by Daniel Hair and Beauty Salon
✔ Louise Bolland Cake Design
✔ Nathans Kitchen Co
✔ Watkins Grantham
✔ Aura 8 Salon

Generosity closer to home too
It’s not just local businesses getting behind the cause. One of the team’s own grandparents popped into the Belvoir Grantham office with a bottle of wine and a candle for the raffle, a lovely reminder that support for the coffee morning has been coming from all directions, from big local names right down to individual well-wishers. It’s this kind of community spirit that makes events like this one so worthwhile, and the Belvoir Grantham team has been touched by how many people have gone out of their way to help.

Why it matters
Every pound raised on the day goes towards Macmillan Cancer Support’s work helping people living with cancer, from practical advice and financial guidance to emotional support for patients and their families. It’s a cause that touches most communities in one way or another, and the Belvoir Grantham team wanted to do their bit by turning the office into a meeting point for the town for the day.

Can’t make it on the day?
Anyone unable to attend in person can still support Macmillan Cancer Support by donating online.

Belvoir Grantham would like to thank everyone who has donated a prize so far, and looks forward to welcoming the local community for tea, cake and a good cause on Friday 25 September. Whether it’s for a coffee, a raffle ticket or just a chat, every visitor on the day helps make a difference.
