Why Should I Switch Letting Agent To Belvoir

The most common reason given to us over the years for landlords coming to us from other agents is simply they feel let down by bad service.  Second one is that they often feel sales is more important to the agent – it isn’t with us as we are specialist letting agents and don’t sell.

Service covers many areas, lack of communication, high staff turnover with a lack of knowledge on the history of your property/tenant causing confusion, lack of training and knowledge of the lettings regulations and long void periods to name a few. Belvoir Hexham and Tynedale is family owned and we actually have the third generation of the family in the business which gives us continuity.

If you feel that you are doing more work than your agent, that you are frustrated at having to constantly call for a call back or updates or you have concerns about the safety and compliance of your property … is it time to switch?

There is no need or no reason to wait until you have a vacant property to switch in fact if you are frustrated it is almost certain your tenant is and why risk losing a good tenant. Tenants like landlords have preferences in agents built of their own experiences and we work hard to build good relationships with tenants as it benefits our landlords. Indeed for those managing themselves tenants in our experience prefer a managed property through a good agent.

If you have a tenant in situ and you change to Belvoir we will give you the benefit of three months free management then we will revert to our standard terms.

So How Do I Switch Agency- It's Simple Really

Firstly you do need to read through your current contract/terms of business with your existing agent as you may need to give notice. We can check the contract with you and even write your notice for you so all you have to do is sign, if you need to post it we will even provide the stamp!

Next step is to instruct us to take over the management and this will be done on line as we upload all your details.

We will request the required paperwork i.e. tenancy agreement, inventory and safety certificates from your old agent and check that all of these are valid. The tenant bond we will have transferred to our account at The Deposit Protection Service.

The tenant will be contacted with details of where to send the rent and we will arrange a visit to introduce ourselves and familiarise ourselves with the property.
