It is policy of Belvoir Lettings Northwich & Congleton that we do not accept rent monies in advance of the 1 month’s rent (plus deposit) we take prior to a tenancy commencing.
We are obliged to conform to certain aspects of the anti-money laundering (AML) rules governed by HMRC. Another reason is that it gets complicated if our landlord clients have our rent guarantee product as it wouldn’t cover them beyond the timeframe that any rent in advance is paid.
We have therefore prohibited any advance rent beyond the initial 1 month under any circumstances.
