PRS Licensing – Plans halted for judicial review July 2014

Share article

Last Wednesday 16th July, an opposition to Landlord Licensing was due for discussion at the Full Council Meeting. The item was removed from the agenda and we now know why.

There has been a legal challenge to the scheme and the Council have been forced to put their plans on hold until a judicial review is completed.

The review challenges the scheme on three counts:

– The evidence supporting the decision

– The legitimacy consultation process

– The reasonableness of the terms and conditions.
