Buy To Let Landlords Case Study

One of our Let Only Landlords contacted us to say he was selling his flat and asked us to serve a Section 21 notice asking the tenant to leave. In the course of conversation, it transpired that the original tenants were a couple and one of the couple had left the property.  As well as advising on the correct way to ensure that the original tenancy had been surrendered and a new one was in place for the remaining tenant, we discussed the fact that the security deposit would need to be registered in the remaining tenants name, to ensure that the Section 21 could be served.
