Before you get going on your landlord journey have you considered the below:
- If the property is mortgaged, is the mortgage a buy-to-let product or have you obtained consent to let?
- If it’s a self-build haveyou obtained the necessary permissions from the local authority?
- Does the property meet the requirements of the HHSRS (Housing Health and Safety Rating System)?
- Is the property on-trend in terms of kerb appeal and cosmetic appearance?
- Have you structured the ownership of the property in the most tax-efficient way?
