Client Money Protection
Client Money Protection is insurance which protects the money of landlords and tenants against theft or misappropriation by the letting agent, whilst it is in their custody or control. This is typically rent or monies held to pay for repairs/maintenance or other necessary payments. Belvoir Bolton is covered by this insurance through its membership of Propertymark and is fully compliant with all the regulations regarding clients’ accounts.
The Property Ombudsman (TPO)
The Property Ombudsman provides a free, fair and independent service for dealing with unresolved disputes arising from letting properties. Belvoir Bolton is a fully signed up member of the Property Ombudsman.
The Deposit Protection Service (DPS)
The DPS will safeguard the tenant’s deposit throughout the term of the tenancy and repay the funds to the appropriate parties. All funds are ringfenced and held in accordance with client money regulation. All deposits are repaid on receipt of a jointly authenticated repayment instruction.
