Aldershot and the surrounding areas of Ash, Tongham, Weybourne and Farnham are ideally placed as towns to commute to London
Express rail links from Aldershot Railway Station ensures central London access within 40 minutes and there is easy access to the A31, A3, M3 and M25 which provides good connections to London and the South Coast
Aldershot has many parks, playgrounds and open spaces for sport and leisure. Aldershot hosts many sporting facilities such as the Rushmoor Gymnastics Academy, Aldershot Tennis Centre, Bowling centre, pools & lido, Garrison Sports Centre, Connaught Leisure Centre and Alpine Snow Sports centre. The legacy of the army has meant that the land for leisure use as well as the protected areas for flora and fauna has been preserved over many years.
Aldershot Town Football club (The Shots) play at the Recreation Ground, just outside Aldershot Town Centre, which in the 2013–14 season, the Chelsea Reserves and Academy under-23 team also play their home games
Farnham, steeped in history, was a successful “market town” and is known these days as a “Craft town”. Remains of Roman, Saxon and Stone Age dwellings have been found within its boundaries. Farnham has a long and strong association with the creative arts, the Farnham University of Creative Arts, The Farnham Maltings which was once a Tannery is now a community centre for the town which provides concerts, band evenings, shows and workshops for the younger generation. Farnham Castle built by the Normans overlooks the tight cluster of shops and houses in the river valley below.
