About Grantham

Welcome to Grantham! Grantham is a market town based in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire. Widely regarded as the ‘gateway’ to Lincolnshire, Grantham is perhaps best known for Sir Isaac Newton, being Margaret Thatcher’s birthplace and St Wulframs church – having reputedly the 6th largest tower in the country at 282ft tall.

Scratch the surface, and you can see that Grantham is changing. Known for being an engineering hub in the primary sector, industry in the town is now dominated by the food processing industry. Grantham has previously been known as somewhere you would pass through or stay over at – as part of a journey on-ward somewhere else, perhaps more exciting.

Not the case. Grantham is both becoming and developing into a great place to live. Being located along the main A1 trunk road and main London to Edinburgh train line has helped recent regeneration with a wave of commuters and families emigrating north, taking advantage of lower property prices, developing services, and local tourist attractions.

Talking of tourist attractions, Grantham offers multiple attractions – all of which are family friendly, the National Trust property Belton House, Easton Walled Gardens, Ellys Manor and Belvoir Castle, all of which offer an insight into times gone by.

Furthermore, the Guildhall arts centre, a theatre right in the centre of town offers an eclectic mix of performances ranging from well-known comedians, tribute nights and independent theatre performance companies. High street restaurant chains are available down on the High street and on the popular Westgate area of town. Smaller boutique shops, cafes and eateries are also available and offer something different.

Property in the area offers a huge opportunity. The property market has a wide scope – offering all sorts of different accommodation. From a one bedroom flat close to the train station, a 5 bedroom luxury home just a few minutes’ drive from the hustle and bustle of the town centre, to a substantial rural home in any one of the attractive villages surrounding Grantham.
