Client Money Protection

Client Money Protection is insurance which protects the money of landlords and tenants against theft or misappropriation by the letting agent whilst it is in their custody or control. This is typically rent or monies held to pay for repairs/maintenance or other necessary payments. Belvoir Lettings Thanet is covered by this insurance through our membership of NALS and we fully comply with all the regulations regarding client accounts.

The Ombudsman service is a free, fair and independent service for dealing with unresolved disputes arising from letting properties. Belvoir Lettings Thanet is a member of the Ombudsman Service. The Deposit Protection Service (DPS) www.depositprotection.com

The DPS will safeguard the tenant's deposit throughout the period of the tenancy and repay the funds to the appropriate parties. All funds are ring fenced and held in accordance with client money regulation. All deposits are repaid on receipt of a jointly authenticated repayment instruction.

All of the deposits taken by Belvoir Lettings Thanet are held by the DPS and we ensure that all parties are given the correct information and legal documentation.
