Basingstoke | Landlords

Belvoir first opened its doors in Basingstoke in early 2009. Since then it has strived to set the bench-mark for lettings in Basingstoke. We have earned an enviable reputation for our customer service, winning two national awards in quick succession.

Belvoir Basingstoke is run by Directors, Mike Jones and Andrew Lowery. They are both very much 'hands-on' and, therefore, heavily involved in ensuring that you are provided with the very highest standards of customer service.

In July 2013 Belvoir Basingstoke bought the Redwoods lettings business in Basingstoke. The estate agent business was originally bought by the Belvoir franchisor and so, whilst Belvoir Basingstoke enjoyed close ties with estate agents, they could still truthfully claim to remain the “Lettings Specialist”.  In December 2016, however, Mike and Andrew also bought the sales business.

Both elements of the business are now owned and managed by individuals with a real vested interest in the success of the business.  You may rest assured that the same attention to detail and the same degree of customer service which lettings customers have enjoyed since 2009 are also now employed on the sales side.

As a result of the Redwoods acquisition, Belvoir may now boast the experience of staff inherited from a business first established over twenty years ago.

The Directors of Belvoir have experience of being landlords themselves and they each understand the difference between good and bad tenants. If they wouldn't want someone as a tenant in one of their own properties, then they recognise that their landlords will likely have the same reservations.

Instead of finding a reason to accept a tenant, they encourage staff to continually look for a reason to decline an application.

Going the extra yard at the very start of the process lays the right foundations and a similar thought process is employed in every element of a tenancy.

Whether you consider the choice a contractor, the speed of rent payment or the quality and frequency of periodic visits, it is the likely landlord reaction which is the determining factor in every decision made.

This is an award-winning and refreshing approach to looking after your investment. Contact Belvoir now to discover for yourself the benefits of the Belvoir approach.

Belvoir Basingstoke takes the treatment of landlords funds very seriously.

SAFE
Safe Agent Fully Endorsed - is a mark denoting firms that protect money belonging to landlords and tenants through client money protection schemes.  Read more about SAFE.

Landlords often make decisions according to cost but it is important that landlords consider the safety of their money.  Regulated firms maintain and operate separate designated client accounts where landlord monies are held completely separate from the operating funds of the firm.

If an agent cannot provide you with the assurance of knowing they are covered by a client’s money protection scheme, the question you should really ask is; why not?

Belvoir Basingstoke was one of the first agents to become a SAFE agent and is voluntarily part of the NALS client money protection scheme, details of which may be found here.

NALS
The National Approved Lettings Scheme is an accreditation scheme for lettings and management agents.  If offers peace of mind to landlords and tenants in knowing that they are dealing with a firm which agrees to meet defined standards of service.  It has in place the necessary insurances to protect clients' money plus a customer complaints procedure offering independent redress.  For more details, click here.

DPS
Tenancy deposit protection (TDP) schemes guarantee that tenants will get their deposits back at the end of a tenancy, if they meet the terms of the tenancy agreement and do not damage the property.  Landlords must protect their tenants' deposits using a TDP scheme if they have let the property on an assured shorthold tenancy (AST) which started on or after 6th April 2007.

Belvoir uses the DPS and further details may be found here.
