About Bury

The borough of Bury is an equal mix of urban and rural Landscape with a total population in excess of 183000 People. It is situated between the two large towns of Rochdale and Bolton.

The area of Bury, Greater Manchester. This sits Seven miles north of the city of Manchester on the edge of the western Pennines. Bury is easily linked to the city via its metro link network (The cities tram service), It takes only 6 minutes to Victoria station in the city Centre, this allows great commuter prospects for the town.

Bury over the last 18 months has undergone a major redevelopment of the town centre, completely regenerating the area with a development known as "the rock". This comprises of over 60 Major Retails and Restaurants, including the high-street names of Primark, Debenhams and M&S.

Also a state of the art bowling alley and Cinema complex, surrounding the development are 408 Luxury one and two bedroom apartments that are in their final phase of completion. Next to the development include a purpose built NHS Medical centre and newly built Premier Inn which confirms the town as an up and coming town to invest in.

Bury also has the Mill gate Shopping centre which an additional 60 + Retailers within a stone’s throw from the Rock which also backs onto the World famous Bury Market that attracts 1000's of visitors annually (best out of 1150 markets UK wide 2008).

Bury also attracts visitors for the East Lancashire Railway that links all Neighbouring towns with active steam engines, and also the

Local Division One Football team Bury Football Club that plays at Gigg Lane just near the town centre.

Among some of the Leisure activities in Bury includes long walks over the west Pennine moors towards Peel Tower (statue to the late Sir Robert Peel Founder of Scotland yard and Met Police Force) or a small strolls over Burrs Country Park.

Education throughout the Borough spans over 7 Secondary schools and 3 Colleges that suggests that Bury is a small town with a large population of both small to large families and not forgetting the commuting professionals that can reach Manchester city centre in 6 Minutes on the Metro link system from Bury town centre.
