Deposit Protection Scheme
Customer satisfaction, excellence and integrity is at the very heart of our ethos. Belvoir Lettings Stortford are licensed members of NALS, TPOS and Safe-Agent.
We follow a strict code of conduct and are compliant with the guidelines set down by these bodies. Not least, we register all damages deposits with the DPS. It is a government approved scheme and ensures such monies are kept secure. It offers peace of mind, to Landlords and Tenants alike.
Deposits lodged in the above scheme have previously been done so at no cost. The administration of such a scheme is significant and time consuming.
From the 1st April 2014, the cost of registering a deposit, will be chargeable to the landlord, at £25 per annum (plus vat). The charge will be levied on each individual deposit held by this office. It applies to new and existing business.
Whilst I appreciate that this news may be unwelcome. It is necessary for me to implement this fee. We take the responsibility of holding such monies very seriously indeed and commit to registering it in an approved and compliant manner.
We have recently been audited by, Belvoir Property Management Central Office. I’m pleased to report that all of our processes and procedures are fully compliant with current legislation.
