For our clients protection we are members of the Property Ombudsman’s Scheme (www.tpos.co.uk) and The National Approved Letting Scheme (http://www.nalscheme.co.uk/) and voluntarily subscribe to their Code of Practice. Either party can be contacted as an independent means of redress if the Landlord is unhappy with our performance or conduct.
This benefits our clients because: We work to defined professional standards, and if a client is dissatisfied, an independent means of address exists. We must carry Client Money Protection Insurance, so in the event of financial mismanagement by the Agent, the landlord will not lose out financially. If a non NALS agent spends the tenancy deposit, for example, the Landlord is still liable to the Tenant for the loss of the deposit.
We must have our Client Accounts independently audited on a regular basis by a qualified accountant, giving landlords reassurance that client monies are being managed 100% correctly.
