You might have been on holiday, but the property market for rental properties in Dunstable and Houghton Regis hasn't, and we have had our busiest month since we opened nearly 2 years ago !

 “Have you been on holiday ?” I’ve been asked by a few of our landlords who had noticed that I hadn’t posted an article on Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter or our own news section on our for the last couple of weeks. ( Links to these accounts are below )

 “In fact quite the opposite” I told them. We have had our busiest month since we opened nearly 2 years ago and contrary to what tenants have told us about other agents having very few properties on their books recently; we have had many good quality properties owned by good caring landlords.

These properties have been taken by good quality reliable tenants and have ranged from 1 bedroom apartments in Bramley Court and the Bloor Homes ‘The Edge’ development to a brand new 5 bedroom house next to the Priory Church.

With your choice of tenants, landlords only need to ensure that they are using a letting agent who will find them the right tenant and give them the service they should expect to receive. The positive feedback we have had from tenants and landlords, the fact that we only specialise in Lettings and don’t deal with sales and the amount of referrals we are receiving convinces us that we are doing exactly that. After all if the agent is managing the property for you they are being trusted to look after an asset that is worth at least £100k and possibly up to £500k. This is possibly part of your income and likely to be part of your pension income now or in the future. For that reason you want to trust the Agent looking after that most important asset.

For tenants looking for good quality property in Dunstable right now it is very hard, and 1 or 2 bed properties will often be viewed and taken before they appear on the portals on the internet. Just making a call to an agent and waiting for them to call you back won't work. You need to make yourself known to the agent, keep calling them so they know you are serious and make sure they have all the facts about your circumstances.

Our recent tenants for properties we have just let include a family returning from Australia after 7 years, a family relocating to Dunstable from Derby and a family relocating from London (paying half the rent). At the moment there seems to be plenty of work in Dunstable and the surrounding areas which is attracting many families to relocate.
