As of the 1st October 2014, legislation was introduced that stated the legal requirement for all letting and property management agents to belong to a property redress scheme.

This year alone complaints to the Ombudsman Services hit a record high during the first half of 2014, where the number of complaints increased 40% on the corresponding period in 2013.

This is encouraging news because the number of us who provide an excellent service to Landlords and Tenants alike can rest assured that the agents not delivering the same excellence are being complained about.

It goes to show that participants in the market are becoming more clued up about what course of action they can take if they are not satisfied. Information is key.
