Vue Cinema Bromley evacuated after smoke disrupts films

Vue Cinema Bromley has been evacuated after dozens of moviegoers became concerned about smoke this afternoon.

The London Fire Brigade is on the scene in St Mark's Square and a spokeswoman said it is a smoke issue and no fire has been reported.

One mum, Zoe, told News Shopper everyone was rushed out in a panic.

"Two ladies were on asthma pumps and it was affecting their breathing, that's how bad it was," she said. "We could smell burning plastic.

"I turned and looked at the light from the projector and it just looked like fog.

"That's when I got up and other people came back and said they were getting their kids out."

The London Fire Brigade said they are currently investigating where the smoke is coming from.

We will inform you of any updates below:

The statement read: “The fire service attended the site today after reports of smoke were received. No fire was found and the cinema reopened a short time later. We apologise for any inconvenience to customers.”

Vue has confirmed the cinema is now back open.
