Places to be in Sheffield: S3 Kelham Island

Kelham Island is most definitely one of the many jewels in Sheffield’s crown. A small suburb that is located close to the city centre which was previously an industrial area has been regenerated into a modern community whilst retaining elements that reflect back to it’s heritage roots.  The area is highlighted by the stunning views of the river Don, which snakes through Kelham Island. This provides a long, superb, backdrop for riverside walks. A large amount of residential developments have been created within the area in recent years that have already become very popular which include a selection of restaurants, shops and pubs. Highlights include, The Fat Cat, an award winning real ale pub; also a brilliant restaurant in the milestone.

The area consists of a mix of properties, including multiple student student blocks, residential flats and a new exclusive development of town houses and flats.

Kelham Island also has superb attractions including the Kelham Island Museum and the Kelham Island Brewery, providing brilliant afternoons out.

Public transport is easily accessible in the form of the Shalesmoor Tram stop, which gives access to the city centre, Universities and the Meadhowall.
