Anything else you should know?

Castor is home to one of the most remarkable churches in the UK. Built on the former ruins of the second-largest Roman building in Britain, the Church of St Kyneburgha is a thing of spellbinding beauty both inside and out. There’s been a place of worship here since the fourth century and this Grade 1 Listed Building really is a spectacular place to visit – with its intricate combination of Roman, Saxon and Norman stonework. Fan of the great outdoors? Castor and Ailsworth delivers there too. A short drive in almost any direction will plonk you amid beautiful rural vistas. Try spending a sunny afternoon strolling beside the lakes of Ferry Meadows and you will see what we mean.
