A recent report from ARLA indicates that landlords are still keen to buy despite weakened tenant demand… Here at Belvoir Lettings in Kettering, we feel the opposite and that tenant demand is higher than ever and we are crying out for more and more properties for our applicants. An overall view of Kettering’s rental market is that it’s still buoyant and we are renting properties out easily if they are of a good standard, as always. Our referencing guidelines are more stringent however so it may seem from the outside that the market has become slightly stagnant due to some properties being advertised for longer. This is simply down to thorough referencing and many applicants who may have passed the referencing previously with other agents are now struggling and having to find a guarantor. We at Belvoir in Kettering do not turn away applicants who are claiming benefits, do not turn away applicants who are retired and do not refuse an applicant who is working for an agency, we DO ask for guarantor in these circumstances though and as the credit checks and referencing is completed by our Administrators in the office, every situation is considered.
