I don't normally suggest City Centre flats/apartments as investments but there are a few in Biscop House available in an early December auction that may interest some investors as they are being advertised at a very keen price

Based on the Guide Prices of around £60k for a 2 bed apartment (there are also 1 beds in the auction but avoid these) and a deliberately pessimistic rental figure of £450pcm (2 bed apartments in this building have previously let for over £550pcm) you'd achieve 9.0% gross yield

Obviously you'd need to factor in Service Charges etc and would need to be careful not to get carried away with auction fever but if these came in at anywhere under £70k they may be worth a look as clearly at that price there's scope for capital growth in the long term
