Some 82% of consumers say they would prefer to work with a 'personal agent' who can manage the whole process of buying or selling a home. Over half of the 1,000 people surveyed by property software firm Dezrez also agreed that they are keen to foster 'life-long relationships' with agents who 'understand their property needs'.
Many of those surveyed also admitted that they're likely to rely on agents' expertise during key moments of a property transaction such as conveyancing, negotiations and inspections. Dezrez's research also gives backing to the well quoted theory that the vast majority of buyers look for properties on the internet, with 93% of respondents saying they search for properties online.
"Whilst many people like to be able to search online, they clearly value the customer experience and human touch of face-to-face interactions," says Justin Morris, chief executive of Dezrez.
"It’s clear that consumers will never quite give up on servitude as a measure of their worth. Buying or selling a home can be an extremely stressful and daunting process and good quality customer service still carries a huge amount of weight," he adds.
