Pupils at Woodfield School this week received a boost to their fundraising for the refurbishment of the hydrotherapy pool. We have been hard at work collecting & raising money for this much needed pool!
Mansoor Akram, Managing Director of Belvoir Hemel hempstead had the pleasure of going to the school to donate the cheque. Following our community engagement activities at the Hemel Old Town Halloween evening and Christmas evenings where the money was raised.
This is our second donation to the Woodfield hydrotherapy fund following a donation in the summer. Beverley Hamilton, Deputy head at the school said, “ we are very grateful to Mansoor for supporting the school in this way, as every donation is a step closer to our pool being able to open once again for the children.”
Woodfield Hydrotherapy pool has been closed and the children have been unable to swim as it was too old and no longer in a working condition. Beverley added, “ we are pleased to say that the first stage of works, on the plant room and pool itself has begun this week. Following this the second stage planned will be the building around the pool, which we hope will begin in March. We are still short of our total fundraising target and if any local community organisations would like to hold a sponsored event or help out financially (however small) we would be extremely grateful”.
We are pleased that we can be apart of raisng money for a much need pool for such wonderful children! We would encourage others to suport this fund in anyway you can, so that these children have their pool back as soon as possible!
